Personal Statement :

I am an active and supportive listener who demonstrates genuineness, warmth, empathy, and sensitivity. I provide psychotherapy to a diverse population of adolescents, adults, and senior adults. I specialize in depression, anxiety, heterosexual and homosexual relationship problems, women issues (infertility, postpartum depression, mid-life transition, menopause), and men issues; psychological and psycho-educational testing, including ADD/ADHD, Learning Disability, Alzheimer's Disease/memory.
My practice is based on the principles of cognitive therapy, which identify "dysfunctional", "irrational" thinking that causes people to experience depression, anxiety, frustration, and/or anger. I teach the client to recognize words, thoughts, and events that trigger negative, irrational thoughts and to restructure these irrational thoughts into rational thoughts by disputing and challenging the irrational thoughts.
